Picture of the week

A wren on fence

A wren sings in the day from a wire fence despite having its feathers ruffled by strong winds. Copyright Mark B. Gibson

High winds of the past week have only now begun to moderate. This wren was busy singing in my front yard a few mornings ago, despite the wind gusts that ruffled its feathers.

I take some great wildlife photos from my front porch and the surrounding woods… just before photographing the wren I photographed a deer munching down miners lettuce under the pines.

I love this photo! Such a darling little bird! We have such a variety of birds in our backyard now–even though we’re in the city. You will post the pic of the deer munching down on Miner’s lettuce soon, right? (Grin)

I love your work–you are such an inspiration, as is Abe Lincoln, another wonderful artist. He takes pictures of all kinds of wildlife, and they’re all in his back yard.

A stunning picture, bro. I love how the blowing feathers are backlit and seem to glow.

I like how the sunlight is shining through the little ruffled feathers,… nice catch!
