Exploring Riverfront Park

October 20, 2010

Riverfront Park in The Dalles is an oasis in a dry land. It is also an area impacted by a nearby superfund cleanup site, a railroad tie plant east of downtown The Dalles. The article is here as a pdf document: RiverfrontPark

The file will take a moment to download, depending on your connection. Feel free to save a copy for printing and viewing. Please do not re-post on the internet, or email as a document: To share, send page as a link via email.

For those interested, the article was written in OpenOffice, a free word processor much like Microsoft Word, and designed and “printed” from Scribus, an open source desktop publishing software, also free. I borrowed page dimensions from the National Geographic… I always wanted to be a Geographic Photographer.

THAT was an amazing journey. I enjoyed every moment.

I have always believed your work is worthy of the National Geographic.

This fills my eyes–which is the greatest compliment I can give.
